A Summer Wedding Across Two Iconic Leicestershire Venues
Summer weddings have a distinct atmosphere. The pace feels easier, spaces open up, and there is more opportunity to move between settings. Claire & Lee’s celebration embraced that flexibility, beginning at Leicester Guildhall and continuing at The Hall Barns. We were delighted to provide the wedding styling and help shape a day that felt cohesive across two very different venues.

Ceremony at Leicester Guildhall
The ceremony took place at the historic Leicester Guildhall, tucked away in the centre of the city. The medieval Great Hall is striking without additional décor. The dramatic black and white timber beams and rich tones of the building create impact on their own, so Claire & Lee chose to keep the styling minimal.
Floral arrangements lined the aisle and framed the ceremony area. White roses combined with generous foliage softened the space while complementing the structure of the hall. The simplicity of the florals worked particularly well against the darker timber and stone, allowing the architecture to remain the focus. We also lined the historical staircase at the Guildhall with florals to create an amazing photo opportunity for the couple portraits, this venue can really take some grand styling!
Leicester Guildhall offers the scale and presence many couples associate with a church wedding, while retaining the flexibility of a civil ceremony. The venue is exclusively yours during your ceremony, which creates a calm and uninterrupted atmosphere.
Guests travelled between venues on a red London bus, which was both practical and a strong visual moment. It provided a seamless transition from ceremony to reception and added personality without distracting from the overall styling.
After the ceremony, drinks were served in the Guildhall courtyard before everyone continued on to The Hall Barns.
A Reception at The Hall Barns
The Hall Barns offers a completely different feel. It is rustic, characterful, and adaptable. The converted barns and canvas covered outdoor areas give couples flexibility while retaining warmth and texture.
Claire & Lee were welcomed by Rock Choir, a personal surprise that immediately set the tone for the evening. Claire regularly sings with the choir, so their performance added a meaningful layer to the celebration and created instant energy in the space.
Sparkle Event Styling provided signage for the day too, a rustic wooden welcome sign and table plan. These were printed for the couple so they could keep them and use them in their home after the wedding day.
With the weather on their side, the couple chose to hold their wedding breakfast in the covered courtyard. Round tables dressed in crisp white tablecloths stood out against the exposed brick, creating a clean contrast that felt considered rather than decorative.
Place settings were structured and simple. A scalloped edge ivory charger plate formed the base, paired with clear glassware and a sage green napkin. Handwritten name places tied with dried lavender and small jars of honey or jam made by the bride added detail without overcrowding the table.
The table centres reflected the same approach. Wooden slices grounded the design, layered with foliage, glass candlesticks, and cylinder vases containing white candles. The combination of wood, greenery, and candlelight created depth while maintaining a refined finish.
A Consistent Vision
What made this wedding work so well was consistency. The styling at both venues felt connected, even though the spaces themselves were very different. Claire & Lee remained focused on a simple, elegant palette and avoided unnecessary additions.
Styling this wedding was a pleasure. When the design direction is clear, it allows every element to sit comfortably within the space. The result was a summer celebration that felt balanced, intentional, and completely suited to the venues they chose.
