Billie & Montelle’s Monochrome Wedding at Stretton Manor Barn
Billie & Montelle’s wedding at Stretton Manor Barn was a great example of how simple, thoughtful styling can create a day that feels both elegant and relaxed. Using a largely monochrome palette and leaning into the rustic character of the barn, their wedding felt cohesive, stylish, and full of personality without being over styled.
Stretton Manor Barn is a venue we know well and love working at. Its exposed beams, natural textures, and open layout suit rustic wedding styling perfectly, particularly when couples choose to enhance what is already there rather than transform it completely. Billie & Montelle did exactly that, keeping their styling pared back and intentional.

For the ceremony, the focus was on clean lines and natural elements. A meadowscape of white flowers and foliage lined the aisle, adding softness and texture while keeping the look understated. Chairs were finished with white chair sashes tied with simple white ribbon, keeping everything light and consistent. Behind the couple, a wooden arch framed their vows, sitting comfortably within the barn setting and adding structure without overpowering the space.
One of the most personal details of the day was a table displaying framed photographs of loved ones who were no longer with them, styled simply with candles. This area was quietly positioned and thoughtfully designed, allowing space for reflection while still fitting seamlessly into the overall look of the wedding.
The reception styling continued the monochrome theme. A mirror table plan welcomed guests and reflected the light beautifully within the barn. Billie & Montelle also hired garden games from Sparkle Event Styling, which were a big hit, especially with the children. The games added a relaxed, playful element to the day and worked perfectly with the informal feel of the venue.
For the wedding breakfast, the space was reworked with sustainability in mind. The wooden arch from the ceremony was moved to sit behind the sweetheart table, creating a strong focal point without the need for additional installations. Long trestle tables filled the room, dressed with white sash table runners, white charger plates, and neatly folded white napkins. Bud vases filled with white roses ran down the tables alongside tapered candles, while glistening glassware added a subtle sense of polish.
Although the colour palette remained minimal, the room never felt flat. The mix of wood, glass, candlelight, and florals added depth and interest, proving that monochrome styling can still feel warm and inviting. This was wedding styling that felt considered and balanced, allowing guests to enjoy the space comfortably.
Billie & Montelle’s wedding shows how effective rustic wedding styling at Stretton Manor Barn can be when simplicity is embraced. Their day combined clean design, personal touches, and relaxed elements like garden games to create a celebration that felt authentic and easy to enjoy.
It was a pleasure to style this Derbyshire wedding, and to see how a clear vision and thoughtful choices can come together so effortlessly.
