Tim & Carrie’s Spring Wedding at Barton Hall
Tim & Carrie celebrated their wedding at Barton Hall in Northamptonshire, making full use of the venue’s light filled spaces and structured interiors. With a clear spring palette and a focus on simple, well placed details, their styling worked with the venue’s architecture to create a day that felt balanced and considered.
Sandra M Plomien Photography captured the day in soft spring light, which complemented both the setting and the styling choices throughout.
Ceremony in the Orangery
The ceremony took place in Barton Hall’s orangery, a space defined by its iconic glass dome and strong natural light. It is a setting that does not require heavy decoration, so the styling focused on subtle additions that enhanced the structure already in place.
Chairs were finished with rose pink sashes tied to one side, introducing colour without overwhelming the space. Paired with our neutral aisle runner, the side tie detail kept the lines clean while creating a visual line to the front of the ceremony where the couple exchanged their vows.
Floral arrangements were placed on simple white plinths of varying heights behind the couple. This created a structured but relaxed focal point, framing them during their vows. The use of different heights added interest without needing large installations, keeping the overall look light and in keeping with the season.
Reception Styling
Following the ceremony and drinks reception, guests moved through to the wedding breakfast, where the styling continued with the same controlled use of colour and detail.
Round tables were arranged throughout the room, providing a classic layout that suited the setting. Each place setting was designed to feel clean and structured while still introducing small details.
Sage napkins were folded over the edge of the table, adding a slightly unexpected geometric element that carried through the overall design. This detail worked particularly well against the neutral table linen, creating contrast without adding additional layers.
Menus were kept simple, with place names tied in place by a green ribbon. This approach reduced the need for multiple pieces on the table while still maintaining a finished look.
Table Centre Design
The table centres focused on height and contrast.
Glass candlesticks were used alongside floral arrangements with a mix of green and pink candles, introducing both colour and variation while keeping the structure of the tables consistent. The use of glass allowed light to move through the space, which worked particularly well in a venue already defined by natural light.
The combination of candlelight and controlled colour added depth without crowding the tables, maintaining the same restrained approach seen throughout the day.
A Spring Palette, Used Consistently
Tim & Carrie’s wedding is a strong example of how spring styling can be achieved through clarity rather than complexity.
Rose and sage were used throughout, from ceremony chair styling through to table details, with each element reinforcing the overall palette. The result was a wedding that felt connected across each part of the day, without relying on large installations or heavy décor.
At Barton Hall, where natural light and architectural detail already provide a strong backdrop, this approach allows styling to sit comfortably within the space.
The result was a spring wedding that felt structured, light and well resolved.
