A Timeless Wedding at Stretton Manor Barn: Axyle & Anna
A classic wedding aesthetic will simply never go out of style, and Axyle and Anna’s beautiful day at Stretton Manor Barn was the perfect example. Soft blush tones, warm candlelight, delicate florals and plenty of thoughtful details came together for a wedding that felt romantic, elegant and completely timeless.
As a recommended supplier at Stretton Manor Barn, we’re always excited to return to this gorgeous Derbyshire venue. The exposed stone, wooden beams and abundance of natural light give you so much character to work with, while still leaving plenty of scope to make the space completely your own.
A Soft, Romantic Ceremony
For Axyle and Anna’s ceremony, we kept the styling beautifully understated. Soft blush draping framed the wooden ceremony backdrop, finished with an asymmetrical arrangement of white and pale pink flowers and greenery.
The same delicate fabric was used throughout the room, including our signature chair drapes. Tied simply with ivory ribbon, they softened the wooden cross-back chairs while allowing all those lovely natural textures within the barn to shine through.
Gold lanterns and candlelight lined the aisle, creating a warm and romantic finish without overwhelming the space.
Timeless Wedding Breakfast Styling
After the ceremony, the barn was transformed ready for the wedding breakfast, with long wooden tables perfectly complementing the relaxed elegance of the day.
Blush fabric runners were loosely draped along the tables, paired with vintage-style brass candlesticks, white tapered candles and delicate bud vases filled with soft white and blush flowers. The combination of warm gold, natural wood and pale pink worked beautifully against Stretton Manor Barn’s stone walls.
Gold charger plates added another subtle metallic detail to each place setting, while the overall look remained soft and effortless rather than overly formal.
Even the smallest details tied into the styling, from little floral posies attached to the chairs to the beautifully simple stationery and wooden details placed at each setting.
Those Finishing Touches
Axyle and Anna also chose one of our wooden welcome signs to greet guests as they arrived, helping to carry the natural, classic feel of the styling through from the very beginning of the day.
Their semi-naked wedding cake fitted the setting perfectly too, displayed on a rustic wooden slice and decorated with dusky pink, blush and white flowers. Against the stone backdrop of the barn, it felt completely at home.
This wedding is such a lovely reminder that you don’t need to follow every new wedding trend to create something beautiful. Choosing a soft colour palette, classic details and styling that complements your venue can create a look that will still feel just as gorgeous when you look back at your photographs in twenty years’ time.
If you’re planning your own Stretton Manor Barn wedding, Sparkle Event Styling is a recommended supplier at the venue and we’d love to help you create a wedding that feels completely yours.
