Weddings at Colwick Hall: A Grand Country House in the City

Colwick Hall offers the best of both worlds: a romantic country house setting with all the convenience of a Nottingham city location. Surrounded by the beautiful Colwick Country Park and once home to Lord Byron, this elegant hotel wedding venue is full of history, character and impressive spaces. Plus, as Colwick Hall is also a hotel, your guests can stay overnight, making the whole celebration feel relaxed and convenient.

The 1776 Grand Ballroom

The 1776 Grand Ballroom is one of Colwick Hall’s most popular ceremony spaces, and it isn’t difficult to see why. White pillars, high ceilings and huge windows give the room a light and grand feel, while the long aisle creates a real sense of occasion for your entrance.

Seating up to 90 guests for the ceremony, the Ballroom is an elegant backdrop that works beautifully with romantic florals, statement aisle décor and classic Nottinghamshire wedding styling.

The adjoining Champagne Lounge is ideal for your drinks reception and leads out into part of the gardens, allowing guests to enjoy the outdoor surroundings. Later, the Ballroom can be transformed for your wedding breakfast, with both long banquet-style tables and traditional round tables working perfectly in the space.

Byron’s Brasserie

For a smaller celebration, Byron’s Brasserie offers a more intimate alternative. Seating up to 40 guests for a wedding breakfast, it is ideal for couples who want the atmosphere and character of Colwick Hall without hosting a large wedding.

Styling Colwick Hall

The Grand Ballroom is a wonderful blank canvas, but it already has plenty of character and sophistication built in. Glass candlesticks and charger plates work particularly well, reflecting the natural light from the huge windows and adding elegance without overwhelming the room. Chair drapes are another lovely addition, especially along the aisle. Muted colours complement the romantic surroundings beautifully, although the neutral backdrop means almost any colour palette can work here.

Whether you are planning an intimate hotel wedding or a grand wedding in the Ballroom, Colwick Hall provides a beautiful and versatile setting. Take a look through the gallery below for more inspiration from weddings we have styled at this wonderful Nottinghamshire venue.
