Cheryl & Josh celebrated their wedding at Wootton Park, combining the venue’s lakeside outdoor ceremony space with a warm, rich colour palette that brought depth and contrast into the barn reception. Styling focused on keeping the overall look classic and balanced, while allowing burnt orange to act as a strong accent colour throughout the day.

From ceremony through to the wedding breakfast, the styling remained cohesive, with repeated tones, materials and details helping the entire celebration feel connected.

Outdoor Ceremony Styling

The ceremony took place outside overlooking the lake, one of the defining features of Wootton Park. The outdoor ceremony area already provides a clean backdrop with white chairs and open views, so the styling worked with those existing elements rather than competing with them.

Soft draping framed the ceremony space, adding movement and structure without blocking the setting behind. The aisle chairs were styled with burnt orange side chair sashes, which stood out beautifully against the white chairs and immediately introduced warmth into the space.

The aisle itself was lined with gold lanterns filled with white LED candles, creating a clear path towards the ceremony while adding softness and glow to the setup.

Guests were welcomed with a gold framed mirror welcome sign created by Inviting Writing, which tied in perfectly with the warmer metallic details used throughout the styling.

Wedding Reception Styling

Inside the reception space, the styling continued with the same combination of warmth, structure and restrained detail.

Round tables were dressed with crisp white linen, allowing the burnt orange accents to stand out clearly throughout the room. Chairs were finished with burnt orange draping, which immediately added depth and colour across the reception space without needing additional decoration.

The tablescapes balanced rustic texture with more elegant details. Woven wicker charger plates introduced warmth and texture at each setting, layered with a neatly folded white napkin and personalised favours. This combination worked particularly well against the white linen, keeping the overall look clean while still feeling relaxed and appropriate for the barn setting.

The floral centrepieces created height and movement throughout the room. Tall gold stands supported abundant arrangements in rich tones including burnt orange, rust, deep red and softer cream florals, bringing colour upwards into the space and drawing attention to the draped ceiling above.

Alongside the taller arrangements, lower floral styling and candlelight softened the tables. Burnt orange fabric was gathered around the base of the centrepieces, helping connect the styling vertically from tabletop to floral display.

The room itself at Wootton Park responds particularly well to this type of styling. The warm wood tones, brickwork and draped ceiling already provide atmosphere, so introducing stronger colour through fabrics and florals allows the space to feel layered without becoming overly busy.

Cheryl & Josh also hired garden games from Sparkle Event Styling, giving guests something interactive to enjoy throughout the drinks reception and evening celebrations. Garden games work particularly well at venues like Wootton Park where guests naturally move between indoor and outdoor spaces during the day.

Signage throughout the wedding was provided by Inviting Writing, with the stationery and mirror signage helping maintain consistency across ceremony and reception spaces.

A Balanced Colour Palette

Cheryl & Josh’s wedding is a strong example of how a bold accent colour can be introduced without overwhelming a space.

The combination of white linen, warm metallics, natural textures and burnt orange detailing created a wedding that felt balanced, welcoming and completely suited to the venue. At Wootton Park, where the barn already has strong architectural character, this more focused styling approach allowed the details to stand out while still letting the setting speak for itself.
