Colour has a beautiful way of breathing life into your wedding day – and when used thoughtfully, it can make your styling feel vibrant, modern, and entirely yours. At Sparkle Event Styling, we’re often asked how to incorporate bold colour without it feeling chaotic or clashing. So, we styled this shoot at Sissons Barn to show exactly how to do it right.

Photographed beautifully by Francelli Photography, the styling showcased strong, joyful colours in a way that felt both fresh and elegant. Think clashing pinks, oranges, and reds – but all within the same warm-toned palette, creating harmony even in their contrast. The key? Keep your backgrounds neutral and let the colour do the talking.

We started with a crisp white linen tablecloth to act as a clean canvas, added a tonal coloured table runner, complementing colour ways of tapered candles and a bold bright napkin. This playful mix of hues created an energetic tablescape that still felt pulled together. The gold charger plates anchored each setting and added a layer of luxe, giving the brighter details a structured base to shine from.

Florals were key to this shoot – abundant, textural, and bursting with bold colour. Rather than sticking to one tone, Nici of Nici’s Creations embraced contrasts, bringing in vibrant blooms in every shade from coral to magenta to tangerine. Placed low and lush as well as tall and striking along the table, they added drama without overwhelming the space.

We also used colour in the details – from the candlelight to the napkins, each guest’s place setting felt unique and joyful. It’s these touches that bring personality to your tablescape without needing to match everything perfectly.

The secret to success here is balance. Let the colour be the highlight, and keep everything else — the furniture, the linens, the venue backdrop — clean, simple, and neutral. Sissons Barn was the perfect choice, with its pared-back charm and light-filled space allowing the styling to really sing.
